Want to Play?! Translation Forum Russia and Running City Invite You to a City Quest
On 30 June, 2016, the organizers of Translation Forum Russia with the support of Literra translation company are inviting the Forum participants to get to know Astrakhan a little better by taking part in a fun quest before the opening of the conference. Attendees of TFR 2016 will have the chance to get to network before the event, see the local landmarks and test their focus, orienteering and teamwork skills.
Astrakhan has much to offer! A city on the Silk Road, at a cross-roads of different civilizations and cultures, one of the most multinational cities in Russia, the hottest warmest spot in Russia, a city of 50 bridges and 11 islands — that is all Astrakhan.
The quest is a city orienteering competition with a local history and ethnography edge. The main objective is to locate objects spread across the city as quickly as possible. Unlike classic sports orienteering, urban orienteering provides for different means of specifying checkpoint tasks.Participants have to reach a designated place and complete a simple task on the spot (calculate, write down or draw something).
Quests, such as this one are organized every year in cities across Russia and abroad as part of the Running City project. In 2016, Running City will help organize a special quest for TranslationForumRussia participants.
